Probably 8-10 years ago what we call our lawn (the green bits between the trees) was more moss than grass. We saw a Green Thumb stand at a local show, made an appointment for them to come and look and have used them ever since. It took a couple of years to get rid of all the moss, as they predicted, but until the recent appalling weather when some moss has returned it has been OK. They come 4 times a year and apply the appropriate treatment. Not cheap at £80 a time but we do have a reasonably large expanse of grass. I would never remember to treat it 4 times a year or know the appropriate mix to use so it's worth it for us.
